Comporta (Alentejo)

Europe, Portugal

Comporta villa is a best kept secret hidden gem where world fashion designers, European royal families, international artists and top entrepreneurs unwind in luxurious simplicity.

Elected for the great quality of its beaches and for the mild climate during the summer, its logo could well be "pst, don't spread the word".  At only 1hour drive from Lisbon, heading south, you'll unravel 30km/18 mi of white flour sand stretched out on turquoise water where dolphins make themselves at home. Although there are a few accesses, most of them are only reachable naturally by foot over dunes. At the beginning of a thin stretch of land, The Troia Peninsula, one of its sides uniquely faces the charming and greenest Arrábida mountain range and its hundreds of year-old castles.

Adding to this, some of the areas don't have a bar service nearby which makes it altogether, even in August, pure desert paradise. However, if you have appetite for local fresh fish, seafood and snacks tasting like summer the restaurant Sal has been distinguished as the world's best beach restaurant by Condé Nast Traveler.

Inside the villa itself you will continue to be surrounded by rustic shades in a luxurious twist found in the few hotels, bars, shops and even fine grocery.

But don't forget, after you post your instagram shots and everybody starts asking "uau! Where is it?", just whistle away....
